Brief Proposal - Animation

For this project my desired product is going to be a 3D animated character in the style of Pixar, it’s purpose being to entertain my target audience which is teenagers that are in C1 and C2 class, although the gender isn’t specified it’s implicitly tailored towards pleasing a male audience. With it being this style of cartoon, I will be including a lot of conventional ideas associated with it, them being: colourful animations, a high amount of action, exaggerated characters and a comedic subplot aside of the main story however unlike most anime cartoons, this story will not be set in a futuristic, fantasy or dystopian world.

This product contains many different elements of different genres this is so that it can appeal to multiple audiences, this will benefit the plot as it allows moments for comic relief in high tension moments as an example. Moreover, as this is greatly targeted towards anime fans, I will try and incorporate many elements which will satisfy their needs to ensure my finished product is greatly enjoyed by them.

The purpose of this product is to entertain them as I want the plot to be quite fresh and unique to this so it is more interesting and unique compared to other animations. Moreover, I feel like I want my audience to be able to build a connection with the characters to create more meaning and perhaps have a potential influence over them.

 My main competitor are other animation production companies for example Explosm Entertainment however I believe they won’t be a large issue do to the fact that their animation style is completely different to this one making them an indirect competitor.

The content within this product will be cut into different layers, them being the animation(frames), the voice overs, the music and the sound effects. I’ll be breaking it down by first producing concept art, then I will be producing the script in which I will be using to produce the movement within those frames. From that I will add a voiceover which will used to synchronise with the video, any music and sound effects will be added last as they are most simple to incorporate.

This video will be produced using frames in Adobe Animate, ill be editing each sequence from forming the main positions for the movement then adding in the frames between, this is as It will require fewer changes than animating each frame in series with each other. Moreover, any visual effects will be hand drawn by me to make all of my work original.

Advertisement will be performed by social media and push media promotion, this will be done by creating artwork to promote the episode or perhaps forming some form of trailer from the actual episodes content. Alternatively, I could use push media promotion as once people have finished a series, a new one is recommended to them based upon what they have previously watched, with this in mind we could advertise the product to anyone who watched anime and could’ve seen some to do with police or investigations.
